ORPHEUS M. and ANNA HARRISON BALLEW
Orpheus Ballew was born in April 1864 married Anna Harrison 23 Aug 1888 in Montgomery County and died 8 September 1946 in Montgomery. The couple are buried in the Alamo Cemetery. Anna was born in April 1869 and died in 1945. For the times, his 8th grade education made him a learned man. Orpheus was the son of Alexander and Sarah Ballew and had one brother, Orvillow and a sister, Fannie. They had a daughter, Delta who married Ernest Bannon and had one son, Lyle. The Ballew son was Leroy born 29 August 1898 both children born in Alamo. Orpheus was a farmer in Ripley Township but moved to Alamo proper as they became older, living on Madison Street.
